Research status
Attribution to Friedrich August Mühlhoff (FAM), Remscheid is highly probable but not final: some letters are lost and an exact match with a dated original is not confirmed. The composition is close to the historical "FAM" mark with two crossed bits. The comparison was made by the owner visually against an image of the mark in the German trademark reference of holzwerken.de (Markensuche). The place of purchase does not prove the place of manufacture. Bought at a flea market in Frankfurt am Main; earlier history unknown. Card dated 17 October 2026.
