All-metal hand auger for wood with an integral loop handle. The handle is a closed loop with a smooth ergonomic curve and a double coil / swelling where it meets the shank. The cutting part is screw-shaped with a pointed lead. "SCHLAGRING" and the number "10" are readable on the shank. Length 215 mm, mass 120 g, nominal diameter 10 mm (confirmed by drilling). Metal, steel grade not established. Unlike the unmarked 210 mm auger (124 g) from the same purchase, the loop is smoothly profiled; the owner notes a more comfortable grip.

Research status
The inscription SCHLAGRING is treated as a brand / maker or trade name; the specific company is not documented, and a German-language name alone does not prove the country of manufacture. The number "10" is the nominal drilling size, confirmed by measuring both the entry and exit holes (10 mm each). How the parts are joined is not established without inspection; outwardly it looks all-metal. Confirmed: length, mass, mark, hole size, place and time of purchase, cleaning method, successful drilling, grip comfort. Assumed: date, country, legal ownership of the SCHLAGRING mark and market price. Dated catalogue analogues of German tools and actual sales data are needed to refine this. Bought at a flea market in Frankfurt am Main in late September 2026. Card dated October 2026.
